Dr. Carl Garbus, FAAO

Dr. Carl Garbus, FAAO graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1980. He opened two private practices in Valencia, Family Vision Care Optometry and Family Vision Care Optometry Neuro Vision Rehabilitation. Currently the practices emphasize care for children and adults with vision deficits from traumatic brain injury, stroke and developmental and learning problems.
Dr. Carl Garbus, FAAO has hospital privileges and consults at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara and Henry Mayo Hospital in Santa Clarita. In addition, Dr. Carl Garbus, FAAO works with the following rehabilitation centers; Centre For Neuro Skills, Solutions At Santa Barbara and the Brain Injury Specialists. He has made various presentations and in-services to optometric societies, occupational therapy groups, and PTA groups regarding vision problems. Another area of interest is working with children who have learning problems. Autism is on the rise and these children have many vision issues that need to be addressed. Amplify Eyecare Santa Clarita has another office that is equipped to help children who have autism. Dr. Carl Garbus, FAAO was president of the Los Angeles County Optometric Society in 1993, serves as the vice president on the board for the Neuro Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA) and has been the president of the organization in 2010.

Dr. Lilia Babakhan

Dr Lilia Babakhan was raised in Los Angeles, California. She graduated from California State University of Los Angeles, where she earned a Bachelor of science in Biology. She completed her Doctorate of Optometry at Western University of Health Science in Pomona, California.
Dr. Babakhan gained her clinical training throughout her internships. Eisner hospital in Los Angeles, CA. Chap Care health clinic in Pasadena, CA. Dr. Barry Leonard and Associates in Panorama City, CA. East Valley Eye Center in Burbank, CA. Throughout her internship Dr. Babakhan gained Extensive training in primary Optometric Care with focus on Specialty contact lenses such as Scleral & RGP fit in patients with Keratoconus, Corneal transplants, Irregular astigmatism & Severe Dry eyes. She was awarded with American Optometric Foundation Vision Care Award of Excellence in Contact Lenses for her dedication and care to patients with Keratoconus.
Dr. Babakhan is a therapeutic and Glaucoma certified Optometrist who also has extensive knowledge in Pre and Post Operative management of glaucoma, Cataract, Refractive Surgery (LASIK, PRK, IOL Exchange) as well as Pediatric eye exams.
Dr. Babakhan has done research study for treatment of Macular Degeneration throughout her years in Optometry school. She is fluent in English, Armenian and Farsi and is able to perform complete eye exams in Spanish. She believes in staying up to date with the latest advancements in technology as well as contact lens products to provide the utmost patient care. "

Jenny Garbus, COT, CBIS

Originally from Los Angeles, Jenny is the general manager and certified brain injury specialist (CBIS) at the Santa Clarita practice. As a traumatic brain injury specialist, she enjoys seeing how patients recover after suffering a traumatic brain injury. She hopes that some of the tools she can provide to patients suffering from neurological issues might make their condition better. Besides her professional life, she enjoys vacationing with her grandkids and exploring new places. She is a Dodgers fan and loves listening to soft rock.

Jessica

Jessica, who is from Mexico, works with us as an optometrist assistant and receptionist. She graduated from UEI college with a degree in medical billing and coding. Eyecare is her passion and she enjoys learning about it. The first time she learned about Ortho-K lenses, she was amazed at the results they could provide. Aside from her professional life, she loves traveling with her three children and follows sports avidly. Her favorite teams are the Dodgers and San Francisco 49ers.

Micah

Micah, who comes from Santa Clarita, is our office manager and optician. She earned a bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from Cal State University Northridge. As an optician, she is very passionate about styling her patients with fashionable frames. She enjoys cooking, crafting, watching sports, and listening to music in her free time. The LA Lakers, LA Dodgers, and LV Raiders are her favorite teams.

Nancy

Nancy is originally from Los Angeles and currently handles medical records for the practice. She earned her associate degree at East Los Angeles College (ELAC) and her bachelor's degree at California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA). She is also a certified graphic artist. Her favorite part of her job is seeing patients who have suffered traumatic brain injuries improve in their quality of life. During her free time, she enjoys cooking, baking, planning events, and catering.

Thelma is a native of Los Angeles and works at the practice as a vision therapist. Working with children in the vision therapy program and watching them make positive changes in their lives is her favorite part of the job.
